13. Measure the total length of the roof and lightly cut a across the middle. Then you can bend and glue the cardboard roof exactly across the triangular gables 




14.  With matches cut out and glue the end s of the beams , the  diagonal supports, the market stall etc. Add the shutters. Cut a hole in the roof and glue in a chimney.
 



15.Use a watercolours to paint your model. Watery washes look best. Choose the colour of the roof carefully. If it's a mediterranean roof then orange 'Roman'  tiles were used. In northern europe grey slate was used. the timbers are a dark brown but use watery colours and allow the texture of the wood to be seen. The  cardboard sides  are a beige colour .




16. At the end you can wash in a little green at the base and on the tiles. Medieval houses were damp and and the materials must have looked mossy and and a bit worn out.
