10. Draw in pencil and cut out carefully the side panel that you have measured. The panel can be made in thick paper or thin cardboard. Don't forget to cut out doors and windows if necessary (see plan) before glueing  .  Hold the cardboard down with your left hand palm firmly, and pull the modelling knife several times towards you. Never place left-hand or fingers in front of the blade!

11. Glue panels to the wood frames , always leaving some of the frame exposed.  Choose whether you want the 'gable end' ( the triangular part of the roof)  to be at the front or the side of the house. Glue a small block onto the top horizontal frame in the middle to support the triangular gable end. Set it back two or three mms to allow space for the cardboard gable end.

12. Draw and cut out the gable ends.  If your village is in northern France or England the angle of the roof should be about 45°. If It's in  a Mediterranean region the angle is about 25°. If your  village is in a mountain region the roof should be steep (about 55°) and perhaps at two different angles. Glue the gable ends to the wooden blocks
