Eleven years ago, in 1992, a group of students in 3è (14 and 15 year - olds) and two teachers hiked for five days across the Corbières in the south of France. It rained every day and we were shivering on arrival at the gites d'étapes, unable to feel our fingers from the cold.

Curiously , however, it was a wonderful experience . Every year since, a group of us has taken the train to the Midi to walk across one of the   more remote and  hilly parts of this beautiful country.
