1992 : The First Hiking Trip Has anyone got pictures from the 1994 Hike Quillan-Foix?  I can't find any of my own. Please hit the contact link on the left if you can help. Can you remember taking  a night train from the Gare d'Austerlitz to Perpignan and  from there climbing  into the Corbières by minibus?  At  the castle of Aguilar , near Tuchan the walk began, to finish five days later at Quillan in the haute vallée de l'Aude.   The path was the Sentier Cathare  and it took us up to the castles of Queribus and Peyrepetuse. It rained nearly every day and we were shivering on arrival at the gites d'étapes in the evenings, unable to feel our fingers from the cold. Curiously , however, it was a wonderful experience . ...... The first three pics here were taken in Duilhac, just beneath the chateau of  Peyrepetuse. The previous day we had been thoroughly soaked but now the weather was looking better. That day we would hike over to the Gorges de Galamus, swim in the gorges and sleep in the hermitage on the cliff-side. Mme Cucuru is in the foreground.   Below is the chateau of Peyrepetuse, perched above Duilhac on the old frontier between France and Spain. Below shows the second, and  wettest day , on the way up to the chateau of Queribus and then down, drenched, to the village of Cucugnan.   Below is the village of Cucugnan. These two pics were taken on the first day, when we were still enthusiastic. This was the dinner we had in the hermitage at Galamus. I like this picture below. It was taken in the village of St Julia le Bec between  Bugarach and Quillan  in the Aude. Back to Carcassonne before taking the night train home to Paris.
