Complete the 'Regions - Type of Production' table on page 2 of worksheet but be careful ! 'North-west' has to be crossed out and replaced by 'Appalachians'.

Then read carefully the 'primary' , 'secondary' and 'tertiary' description on the first page. With this knowledge you should complete the diagram of 'agri-business' on page 3 (see instructions at top of page 3).

Bring 'Making History' to the lesson

American Products in France

Over a week keep a note of what American products you consume ( from Kellogs breakfast cereals to Levis jeans , driving to school in a Ford or Opel (General Motors) car, listening to American music, watching MTV etc).

Write two or three paragraphs and stick in labels, photocopied logos etc.

To find out what American brands are have a look at these :
Dow Jones Industrials (US industrial stocks index)
Standard & Poor's
(US mixed stocks index)
Nasdaq (US hi-tech stocks index)

Write a final paragraph giving your opinion : should French/European manufacturers, farmers, musicians or film-makers be helped and protected by the government?
